52nd Conference of the Habitat and Francophonie Network: Together, Let’s Build an Inclusive City

The 52nd Conference of the Habitat and Francophonie Network (RHF) will take place in Nouakchott from March 17 to 20, 2019 for members, and from March 19 to 20 for partners.

Organized in partnership with ISKAN, and with the support of the Mauritanian and French governments, this international event is part of the preparations for the 2020 Summit on Sustainable Cities, following up on UN Habitat III (2016) and the 2018 Francophonie Summit in Yerevan.

This conference will serve as a unique platform for sharing experience and expertise, with a focus on inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities. It will explore two key topics:

  • The role of local stakeholders in producing affordable housing
  • Urban resilience and climate-adapted housing

Participants will take part in scientific presentations, roundtable discussions, technical visits, and peer exchanges.

The goal is to foster cooperation between local governments and housing actors across the Francophone world and to develop new avenues of collaboration for inclusive and sustainable urban development.
