President of the Republic Inaugurates the Largest Commercial Complex in Nouakchott

Nouakchott, November 22, 2017 – The President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, inaugurated on Wednesday the largest commercial center in the capital, built by the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and Territorial Development.

The President cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially launching the complex's activities. The center is meant to replace the old "Capital Market", which the authorities plan to demolish.

The new facility covers a surface area of 17,350 m², and includes 1,171 shops of 29 different types, distributed across the ground floor and two upper levels, along with a dedicated service area.

The center was built under the supervision of ISKAN, with a total cost of 6 billion ouguiyas, entirely financed by the national budget.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Yahya Ould Hademine, Minister of Housing Mrs. Amal Mint Maouloud, the Wali of Nouakchott West, the President of the Urban Community of Nouakchott, the Hakem of Tevragh Zeina District, the President of the National Assembly Mr. Mohamed Ould Boilil, and several government members.
